What an incredible time in the Lord we had at Connection Pointe Church of God in Grove City, Ohio. I was invited to speak for one of their Set Free Worship services, hosted by the church and led by a great friend and brother in the Lord, Delbert Hill and his wife, Jenny. They are the leaders of a wonderful program for women in need called The Covering. Make Way Ministries partners with the Covering through our speaking ministry and financial contributions as well as Delbert and I serve on each other’s ministry boards. The work they are doing is incredible. Some of the ladies from the ministry shared testimonies of how the Lord was transforming them from the inside out and rebuilding their families. I shared a message called, “When Jesus Shows Up.” It was on my heart to share about the need for the church to believe the Lord to use us in the supernatural. I talked about how the atmosphere was different when Jesus entered a room. People had their lives dramatically changed because of the Holy Spirit’s anointing on His life. But it didn’t stop when He left the earth. The same work continued on through His disciples. And my personal conviction is that the Scriptures are clear that our lives should also reflect the anointing of the Holy Spirit to see situations radically changed when we walk in the authority given to us by Jesus.
I encouraged the church to step out in faith, pray for the sick, minister to the broken, and be Jesus everywhere they go. The Lord touched many lives at the altars at the end of the service. One young adult in particular came up with a hand that had been injured and she wasn’t able to open up her fingers completely because of the pain. When we laid hands on her and prayed, I asked her to test it out. She began to weep, because Jesus healed her and she said that all the pain had gone. What a mighty God we serve!
I believe as the world around us grows darker, we need to believe the Lord to display His glory through His church more than ever before. The lost do not need just a nice Sunday church service. They need an encounter with the Living God. But it requires that we step out in faith, take risk, and leave the results up to Him. It was a great day in the house of God!
