Welcome to our website. My name is Dustin Renz and I am the President of Make Way Ministries.
You probably ended up on our page because you received one of our touch cards. We distribute them to churches to give Christians an easy way to share the love of Christ. Our desire is that everyone has a chance to hear this incredible message that we call the Gospel. Everyone has wondered to themselves, “What is the purpose of life? Why am I here? Does all of this even matter?” Well, we believe that the meaning of life is only found in a meaningful relationship with God.
I spent years chasing after everything this world had to offer, and it led me into addiction, pain, destruction…a miserable life. But when I discovered that God loved me so much that He sent His Son Jesus to die for my sins so that I could have a relationship with Him, that changed everything. I want to share a few biblical principles about why we need Jesus as Savior and how we can have a relationship with God through Him. I’d invite you to for further questions or if you need someone to pray for you.
1: We Have a Sin Problem
As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
Every human has been separated from a holy God because of our sin, which is rebellion against Him. There is no way for us to get rid of our sin. We cannot clean ourselves up or do enough good to make up for it.
2: The Cost of Sin and the Gift of God
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
The punishment for sin is separation from God, experienced both in this life, and in eternity. But God offers us eternal life through His Son Jesus Christ.
3: God Solved the Sin Problem
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to take the punishment for our sin and die in our place. He offers forgiveness for all of our sins through the sacrifice of Jesus. And He did this even while we were still in our sin and rebellion against Him.
4: How to Respond to God’s Offer
…if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Receiving the free gift of salvation and forgiveness for our sin requires faith on our part. We need to believe in His work on the cross on our behalf. And we must confess Him as our Lord and Savior. If we cry out to Him with a sincere heart, He will save us.
5: The Result of Salvation
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ…
Through faith in Jesus and His work, we are no longer separated from God, but brought into His family. We have been justified, or treated as if we had never sinned, and have peace with God eternally.
A Prayer of Repentance
Are you ready to cry out to the Lord and receive His forgiveness for your sins? Do you desire in your heart to turn from your wicked ways and make Jesus the Lord of your life? If so, here is a prayer that can be prayed to express that desire. The prayer itself is only a model. The power is not in the words, but in the God that you pray them to.
Lord Jesus, I come to you in need of forgiveness. I confess that I am a sinner and that I have rebelled against you. I acknowledge that you died for my sins on the cross, and that your sacrifice is my only hope for salvation. I choose today to turn from my sin, and to live my life for you. I ask you to save me. I ask you to take control of my life and be my Lord. Thank you for your blood that was shed for me. I choose to live for you from this day forward.
